The Genesia Girls Hackathon was held during the 26th - 27th July, 2025, at the XEquals Office at 93 Cuba Street, Te Aro, Wellington!
At our event, six teams of participants competed to create a Digital Technology-based solution towards a problem of their choice in our current Healthcare System in Aotearoa.
There was a number of oppurtunities to learn about the Technology Industry throughout our event, with our amazing mentors teaching participants User Experience (UX) and User Planning techniques in order to create their solutions. We had an amazing Cybersecurity workshop held by TūhuraTech, where participants learned through an engaging, guided tutorial.
We had a speaker panel from Victoria University Wellington Women in Technology, which answered many burning questions from participants and helpers alike.
Overall, it was an incredibly fun event, with many participants leaving with new friends, connections, and a new-founded interest in Technology.
